Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed taking part in numerous card games when he was young. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable gamblers would often play against one another. Howard was able to access a few of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard would tweak his logical thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL Texas Holdem.
Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was an excellent student of poker as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Sin City and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. Annie Duke is one of the greatest women players the poker world has ever seen. Howard Lederer moved to Sin City in Nineteen Ninety Three and played money games for the subsequent 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
