Web Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Posted in Poker on 03/24/2017 10:25 am by IzaiahGus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While competing in net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest players in the world could be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash games?
