NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Posted in Poker on 08/13/2017 04:25 am by IzaiahPhil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player in the world by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative comments from others kill his goal of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
