When will You Going to Understand that Texas Holdem Poker is About Position!

[ English ]

I have been betting poker now for about 5 years, I’ve bet cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and basic random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to often win, whatever casino game we were playing and even though I liked to call it skill, it was very hard to warrant thinking about the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a long-term run of luck.

Then came Poker, or more importantly Texas holdem Poker, made famous by a group of Texas card players in the 1960’s and since developed into one of the largest card phenomena ever observed. Poker is absolutely the new black, it is ultra cool with many of the world’s top super stars racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick scan through the TV channels nowadays and you are able to not escape from poker, and of course there is the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for each individual player.

So with all of this fresh discovered recognition, with so several Tv shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with high quality material written by the top minds on poker, when are people going to learn that this game is all about position!?

Perhaps I must not have so worked up about this, after all the additional persons who struggle with the delicate techniques and methods necessary for succeeding consistently at Hold em, the better it really is for everyone else, right? I mean, if they cannot be troubled to read all of the offered information about why placement is so essential, why need to we bother? We really should just be happy there’s one more fish at the table!

It is true, we should not reward inactivity with guidance and assist. However, I liken this to a friendly casino game of football. Naturally the levels aren’t so great, except when you notice a player having difficulties, you support them, offer them a number of advice, ultimately showing them a method to like, like and be thankful for the game as much as you. I am askin all house players to do a similar thing with their poker friends who have not quite grasped the subtleties of wagering position. Guide them to grow their respect for the casino game. Of course, don’t attempt to try this one in your community gambling establishment, the sharks won’t appreciate you instructing their meal how to swim!
